It has been a year since we last saw a Google search engine in action, but this year’s launch of the search engine’s search engine on iOS was a step in the right direction.
The Google search box in iOS 11 has been removed, but it is still a Google-centric interface with a bunch of extra options to make it feel like the search box was in iOS 7.
We have all had some kind of experience trying to use an iOS device to search for something that we know we want but don’t know where to start, so the iOS 11 search box has provided some interesting options.
Here are some of the things you can do with the search interface in iOS.
Searching on a computer: Go to Settings > General > General Search, select Search and you will be shown the search results.
Tap on a result and you’ll be able to quickly select it to view more results.
Search on a smartphone: Go into Settings > Search and tap on the search icon in the bottom right corner.
Scroll down to see the results of the query you are searching for.
Search using your Mac or PC: Open the System Preferences and tap the Search tab, then tap Search.
You can see results on your desktop, as well as on your laptop.
Google Maps: Search for a location on Google Maps and tap anywhere on the map to get directions to it.
Google Now: Go back to your home screen and tap More > Search, then select Search Now.
Google+: Go ahead and tap Search in the top left of the page.
Search for “tiger” and you can find out more about the animals you know and love.
Search a restaurant: Go through the menu, tap Search, and you should see a list of all your restaurant suggestions.
If you don’t see a suggestion for a specific restaurant, it is possible the restaurant is currently out of stock.
You will also be able view your current search history, so you can see if it’s been searched recently.
You also get suggestions for restaurants that are nearby, so if you’re in a city, you can search by name to find the closest restaurant.
Search with Siri: The Siri search box on iOS 11 will show suggestions based on your location and activity, and the Siri search bar will also include suggestions for other restaurants nearby.
You’ll also be presented with suggestions when using Siri, which can be useful if you need to quickly type in the location of a restaurant.
You are able to search restaurants by name, so it is a good idea to look up the restaurant in your local area, as the restaurant will show up in your results.
Google Translate: Google Translates English and French text on a search, which means the results will appear in a Google Translator-like interface.
Search suggestions include restaurants and events that you’ve previously visited.
The search box can also be used to search the web.
Search in Photos: Go right to Settings, tap More, then the Search and Search Boxes tab, and select Search Photos.
The Photos search feature is useful if a search is already active, as it will show you a list, and when you’re looking for something you might want to add to the results, you’ll also see the photo you’re searching for in the search result.
Search the web: Search in Google Search and look for things you may want to search, such as Google News, Amazon, and Netflix.
Google is adding a new search box that allows you to search within a specific category, such like “news” or “book”.
You can also search by keyword, like “books” or simply “books”.
Search on Google Drive: You can search for things on Google Cloud Drive, a Google storage service that you can use to store documents and photos on your computer, tablet, and smartphone.
If a search doesn’t result in any results, just go to the Search box in the upper right corner of the results page and select “Search from the Cloud”.
Google Home: Go straight to Settings and tap Home.
You might also want to check out our guide on how to use Google Home, which shows how to search Google Home for specific words, phrases, or topics.
If Google Home doesn’t recognize the query, just search for the word you want and Google will try to find a result.
Google Home will then display a search box, so go ahead and type in a search term and it will be displayed.
Search via Siri: Siri will also give suggestions based off of your location, activity, activity level, and your voice.
Google Search will display suggestions for people nearby you, as they will show in your search results, and Google Photos will show photos and other things you might find interesting.
The results will be updated as you type.
Google Photos: Google Photos, like Google Search, will display results based on search queries, but with some of them, like photos and videos, you may be able get results that are of interest to you.
