A former professional boxer and his longtime friend were accused of rape and sexual assault in New Jersey, authorities said.
The Newark Star-Ledger reported Thursday that 25-year-old Brian A. Bunch Jr. was arrested Thursday on charges of rape, sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual contact in connection with a series of alleged incidents dating back to 2012.
Authorities in Trenton, New Jersey told the newspaper that Bunch was the ring announcer for a local boxing tournament and the promoter of a sports-themed tournament in Trent, New York.
According to the newspaper, a witness told authorities that Baughs father, Brian A., also worked for him as an announcer.
Bunch and his friend, 22-year old Daniel D. O’Connor, allegedly conspired to engage in sexual activity with at least five women and made explicit sexual remarks about their bodies, according to the arrest affidavit.
Baugh was also accused of making lewd comments to another man during an alleged incident.
Police did not say if the women were assaulted while the pair was working, but the Star-Leda reported that the two men were arrested on Thursday after the women reported them to police.
Authorities say Baugh is accused of molesting a woman in New York in February 2015, and another woman in June 2015.
They say he also sexually assaulted another woman.
Authorities said the two were arrested by a state police sergeant.
They were released from the Monroe County Correctional Facility after posting bond and were expected to appear in court on Friday.
