Tottenham 'could raid Bayern Munich' in hint that Antonio Conte has made mind up on star

Tottenham are looking to snap up Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel this summer. That would suggest that Antonio Conte will not take up an option to sign Pierluigi Gollini at the end of the season.

Tottenham are interested in signing Bayern Munich star Nubel in the summer transfer window.

After already penning Hugo Lloris to a new contract, that would seem to signal the end of the road for Gollini – who is on loan from Atalanta.

Nubel is currently also out on loan, joining Monaco last year where his old boss Niko Kovac was before he was sacked in January.

Nevertheless, the German goalkeeper has performed well for the Ligue 1 side – keeping 10 clean sheets in 38 matches.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Monaco until the summer of 2023 but that could be cancelled by Bayern Munich.

According to German magazine Kicker, Tottenham are monitoring the situation and could raid Bayern.

Spurs have Gollini as their back-up goalkeeper at the moment but has yet to impress since making the move from Atalanta.

There is an option to make his deal permanent but it appears that Conte is reluctant to trigger that clause and the Italian looks set to return to the Gewiss Stadium.

As for Nubel, it remains to be seen whether he would agree to moving to Tottenham.

The former Schalke star left Bayern initially because he did not want to play second fiddle to Manuel Neuer, who looks set to have earned a three-year contract extension.

That would indicate that the German legend will remain between the posts at the Allianz Arena for some time more, meaning Nubel might eye a permanent departure.

However, with Lloris also extending his deal until 2024 that would likely mean that the 25-year-old would be on the sidelines in north London.

Tottenham’s interest in Nubel is longstanding having looked at a deal in both the summer and January.

Spurs’ performance in the Premier League might also affect their transfer business with the top four looking further by the week.

Another defeat at the weekend has seen them lose further ground in the Champions League race with West Ham, Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves battling it out.

That decision failed to pay off, however, with the Red Devils sacking Moyes after just 10 months in charge.

After the current West Ham boss came Van Gaal, who arrived with big things expected due to his past success at the likes of Barcelona and Ajax.

Giggs was hoping to get the Red Devils job himself, which was why he stayed, but both ended up leaving nearly six years ago.

When Jose Mourinho took over, he opted to maintain his close relationship with Rui Faria – who had previously worked under him at clubs such as Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Fair departed in the summer of 2018, though, with Michael Carrick then given a place on Mourinho’s bench.

Carrick stayed to work under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the Norwegian also regularly picking up the thoughts of Phelan and Kieran McKenna throughout his spell in the dugout.
